Preparing for holiday in Bulgaria

Organising the perfect family holiday

The secrets of organising the perfect family holiday – "preparing for your holiday in Bulgaria" Guide

Planing a holiday in BulgariaPlanning a family holiday is a stressful experience, sometimes it feels like just one big headache.
We have tried to put this guide together to help take some of the stress out of planning your next Bulgarian holiday, trying to make your holiday in Bulgaria easier in every way. The guide will help you with tips to help you plan your holiday and enjoy it to the full.

Get the family involved

Where to go on holiday - BulgariaWhen planning the holiday in Bulgaria you should try to get the whole family involved. This can really help to make the whole planning experience much more enjoyable, and make sure everyone’s happy with the choice of your holiday rental! If your children are old enough, it would be a great idea to get them involved in researching some possible activities and places to visit online.

Top Tips

Get all the family together and decide what they all of you want from your holiday, such as “sun”, “beach”, “rest”.

  • As a family, decide on a short list of destinations. Basically you should decide whether your holiday rental should be on the beach or a bit rural too.
  • Set the kids a challenge to go online and get travel guides and to do a bit of research about the destination.
  • Encourage them to look at what activities and facilities are on offer and make a note of those that could be of interest to each family member.
  • Discuss the best options and take a family vote to reach a decision. This is the way to get everyone excited about the holiday.
  • Once you’ve reached a decision, encourage the kids to research the history and culture of the area, which adds an educational element and helps you plan what to do when you arrive.
  • Older kids can print off details or bring along useful books or guides they’ve found
  • When it comes to any family holiday, one of the main headaches is simply deciding where to go. Everyone has a different idea of what makes a great break; the kids might want sea, sand and lots to do, whereas you might want a tranquil escape with some interesting sights to see. The good news is our villas can satisfy the whole family’s needs. Check the villas we have for rent in Bulgaria – they are all family friendly.

Beach in Bourgas - BulgariaFor families with younger children sitting on a tight budget, the Bulgarian coast offers an abundance of family-friendly activities. Our villas are only 20 km to Sunny Beach, the bustling Bulgarian resort providing long stretch of sandy beaches, plentiful shops and bars and water and amusement parks. See location here. You will find on the Bulgarian coast attractive small towns and ports (Nessebar, Sozopol), safe beaches and a tranquil atmosphere. Bulgaria is a brilliant option, offering excellent value for money plus an abundance of cheap flights and family-friendly coastal resorts. The 378km of sunny beaches on the edge of the Black Sea are separated by fishing villages, secluded vineyards and romantic peninsulas. The beaches are safe for children, with no currents, gently sloping beaches and blue flag accreditationNessebar (Bulgaria).

Visit the Blue Flag website (www.blueflag.org) for a complete list of accredited beaches in Bulgaria. A Blue Flag acts as a guarantee to tourists that the beach or marina they are visiting is one of the best in the world.

    Choosing Accommodation

Many families (88%) preferre self-catering accommodation in Bulgaria over hotels for a family holiday, and it’s no surprise. Self-catering accommodation provides more space, more privacy and complete flexibility when it comes to mealtimes, which is a great advantage with kids. It leaves you free to eat in, or to sample the delights of local restaurants. It’s also a much better option for larger families. How often have you struggled to find suitable, affordable hotel accommodation if you’re a family of five or more?

  • Villas with private pools - Often the top of the wish-list, a villa with its own private pool means no more fights for a sun-lounger and parents can relax by the pool-side, while kids wear themselves out splashing around all day.
  • Farmhouses or farmhouse apartments with pools - Farmhouses are great for a relaxing, rural break, most often found in peaceful settings in beautiful countryside, but within driving distance of the local town or village. Find one with a pool to keep the kids amused on days in.
  • Particularly useful things to look out for, or ask about include:

  • Properties with a washing machine, so you don’t need to pack as much.
  • Places with a BBQ, to encourage Dad to do some cooking!
  • Places with TV and DVD players. In case of rainy days, or if you want to have a quiet night in and keep the kids entertained.
  • Additional services such as welcome packs, supermarket shops, babysitting and meal delivery companies.
  • Packing like a Pro

Some top tips about preparing and packing:

  • To enjoy your holiday, start preparing passports and other important information at least four weeks prior to leaving the country.
  • Lay clothes out on each bed so you can easily see what you’re going to pack.
  • Don’t pack too much; the less gear you take the better, and often you don’t really need it. Kids don’t care if they wear the same clothes three times, and if you are really desperate you can always buy items whilst away!
  • Split clothes between all cases so everyone has something to wear if a case gets lost.
  • The destination has been chosen, the accommodation has been booked so just sit back, relax and dream about the impending holiday… or so you thought. It’s now time to snap into action - packing is where the hard work kicks in!
  • Here’s our handy check list to help you remember all the essentials

Passport for your holiday in BulgariaPassports. Check everyone has one, knows where it is, and that it’s in date. Many countries require at least six months left on your passport before letting you in, so check this in plenty of time.

Insurance. Whatever type of holiday you’re taking - whether it’s a package deal or you’ve booked flights and accommodation independently, you should always get travel insurance. Don’t forget to get your free Euro Health Card (EHIC) form from your local Post Office. This entitles you to free or reduced cost health treatment anywhere in the EU.

Paperwork. Organise all of your holiday documents in to one main folder and then make photocopies of passports and insurance for each person to put in their luggage so you’re prepared if these items get lost.

Clothes. Whil’s a good idea to pack for every eventuality, this doesn’t mean you have to take an entire wardrobe! One waterproof, one jumper, one pair of trousers and trainers will suffice in case of bad weather on a sume itmer holiday, for example, then a few key staples to see you through. You do not need a completely different outfit every day for each family member.

    Additionally:
Toiletries - wet wipes and tissues can be a lifesaver when travelling with small children! Mobile phone charger and plug adaptors. Digital camera, plus charger. Things to keep the children entertained on the journey (see our top tips in the next section). A small first aid kit (plasters, insect repellent, antiseptic cream and painkillers). Sweets to chew or suck on the plane journey, or earplugs to reduce pain. Sunscreen and after sun.

Finally, don’t get too stressed about packing. As long as everyone has their passport and tickets, if you do forget something you can usually buy it at the airport or on holiday, and most of the time you’ll find you didn’t really need it anyway!

    Quality time

Making The Most Of Your Holiday Time Together

Time with your family on holiday in BulgaiaDespite the stress that many of you experience planning your holiday in Bulgaria, most of you really enjoy your holiday once you are here in Bulgaria. In today’s busy world, a holiday together is a rare chance to spend some quality time with your family and re-establish important bonds, away from the day to day hassles of everyday life. Unless you’re very lucky, you only get to do this once or twice each year, so make the most of it!

    Tips for quality time together:

When you do ‘eat in’, encourage the children to get involved by helping you pick enticing ingredients from the local market so you can prepare some dishes that are typical of the country you are in. This will be both informative and fun for them, plus you get a helping hand!

Make time for play-time Parents they get under two hours of quality time together as a family each day when at home, so after chores and homework, there’s limited time left to simply relax and play with the kids. So make the most of the extra time on holiday to be silly together and create those funny holiday memories you can look back on and laugh about. This could be as simple as splashing about in the pool with a bat and ball, or could involve something altogether more inventive!

    Time with family Bulgaria

    Relax the rules!

Relax on Holiday in BUlgariaFinally, relax! The beauty of being on holiday is the lack of a set routine. As long as your children are safe and sound, relax the usual rules and leave your everyday problems at home. Holidays are meant to be a break from your usual routine and the more relaxed everyone is, the more you’ll enjoy your time together. If you’re staying in your own villa or holiday home, it’s much easier to let the whole family amuse themselves without having to worry about who’s doing what all of the time.

Take the grandparents for a helping hand

The ultimate pampering idea is to have constant help at hand – so take the grandparents! This will give you time on your own, time with yout partner and time with more of the family.

A villa or holiday home, with the space and privacy that they provide, is perfect if you do plan to bring the grandparents, or to share with friends and their children. If you like this idea, but would still prefer a bit of space, look for somewhere that has multiple properties on the same site; for example an apartment complex or a converted farmhouse with separate cottages.

Eat in during the day so you can spoil yourselfwith some nice dinners out. One of the great things about holidays is the chance to enjoy mealtimes together, but don’t fall into the trap of preparing every single meal like you do at home! A key benefit of self-catering is that it gives you the flexibility to eat in OR out, so save money by eating at home during the day, so can you treat yourselves with some nice dinners out. Limit the cooking by stocking up on fresh bread, croissants, cold meat, fruit and cheeses etc… for breakfast and lunch, and let the family graze on whatever they like during the day and see to themselves!

In addition, if your accommodation has a BBQ, make the most of it! Even if Dad never goes near the kitchen at home, you can bet he’ll be dying to fire up the BBQ and try his hand at being Jamie Oliver, so let him do the work for a change!

We hope that our guide will help you plan the perfect holiday for you and your family, and ensure you enjoy it once you arrive too. Holidays are meant to be the best times of the year and a wonderful opportunity to spend some fun, quality time together as a family. There’s no reason why planning a holiday should cause too much stress, so we hope you look forward to planning your next great escape!

    Song of Bryastovets

    Song of Bryastovets

Written and performed by George Duncan……… Scotland
From an idea and collaboration with Iliya Nikolov….. Bulgaria

Flag of Scotland Flag of Bulgaria

Click on the “Play” [ ] button below to play the song.

    LYRICS:

Bryastovets, Bulgaria - a small village near the sea
The sun, the wind and time stands still - each time for you and me
We long to be there all the while - but time passes by so fast
Your dearest wish is for our return - and that this is not our last

    CHORUS:
Bryastovets we dream of you - and soon we will be there
    Sunnyhills and Meadowview’s - a time without a care
Drinking beer at the BBQ - is the finest way to start
To sing and dance with all our friends – they’re always in our heart

Life is fast back home in Scotland – in Bryastovets it’s slow
You forget your troubles here in paradise – but soon it’s time to go
The friends we’ve made in Bulgaria – we’ll hold forever in our heart
The hardest thing is knowing – that soon we’ll have to part

    CHORUS:
Bryastovets we dream of you - and soon we will be there
    Sunnyhills and Meadowview’s - a time without a care
Drinking beer at the BBQ is the finest way to start
To sing and dance with all our friends – they’re always in our heart
To sing and dance with all our friends……………………….
    They’re al …….ways……. in ………..our ……….heart

    Basics on Getting There

    Organise your travel arrangements

For UK guests the fastest and most comfortable way to get to the villas is to fly from an UK airport of your choice to Bourgas airport. The airport pick-up is free for groups up to 4 people. Larger groups will be charged € 15 each way for a second car or our driver will escort a hire car from the airport (free of charge).

Guest from rest of Europe (Germany, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, Romania) might consider driving to Bulgaria. Finding your way straight to the villas could be difficult for people driving for the first time in Bulgaria. To make it easier for both of us we can make an arrangement to wait for you at the very beginning of the city of Bourgas and then escort you to the villa. This service is also free of charge.

    Entry requirements

    Visas

EU citizens holding valid passports can enter Bulgaria without requiring a visa.

Dual nationals of Bulgaria and any other country should enter and exit Bulgaria on their Bulgarian passports. It is always advisable to carry your Bulgarian travel document with you as well as that of your second nationality.

    Passport Validity

All citizens, including EU citizens, should ensure that their passports are valid for at least three months after their departure from Bulgaria.

    Travelling with children

All children entering Bulgaria will need to have their own passport. Children included in parents’ passports will only be allowed in if the passport also contains their photograph. Single parents or other adults travelling alone with children should be aware that some countries require documentary evidence of parental responsibility before allowing lone parents to enter the country or, in some cases, before permitting children to leave the country.

    Customs Regulations

Travellers do not normally pay any tax or duty on excise goods they have bought tax and duty paid in EU countries for own use. But there are special rules for cigarettes and some other tobacco products from some EU countries. The limit for Bulgaria (when coming back home) is 200 cigarettes.

The shop and the bars are located in the centre of Bryastovets on the village square. In the shop you will find most essential groceries like bread, cheese, sweets, cheese, ham & eggs, crisps, juice, coke, beer, local alcoholic drinks etc.
The bars serve local food of good quality at very reasonable prices (up to several times cheaper than Sunny Beach). You will get there soups, salads, steaks/chicken/chips and they also sell things like water, coke, beer, crisps, ice cream, etc.
The bars are family friendly and the staff (some of them) speaks English.

    Distances by car to:

    Sunny Beach - 20km
    Nessebar - 19km
City of Bourgas - 25km (town centre)

Town of Aytos - 11 km
Town of Kableshkovo - 9 km

    City of Bourgas

It is a nice and quick drive to the city of Bourgas. The distance from the villas to Bourgas is 19 km only. You will find several large supermarkets like Metro/Makro and Carrefour at the very beginning of the city. These supermarkets are easy to find and give holidaymakers the opportunity to stock up with food and drinks for a whole week.
You can read more travel information about Bourgas on the WikiTravel site or more general information about Bourgas in the Wikipedia site.

    Did You Know?
Bourgas has a large and sandy beach strip. There are many bars, coffee shops and restaurants along the beach promenade with beautiful sea views. The promenade itself is a nice place for a walk and very popular with the people living in Bourgas.

    Nessebar & Sunny Beach

The probably best known Bulgarian Seaside resorts. The old quarter of Nessebar linked to the mainland by a narrow neck of land is included in the list of monuments of the world cultural and natural heritage compiled at UNESCO. It is a gorgeous place to visit with outstanding fish restaurants (must visit). Nessebar is linked to Sunny Beach by a short strip of sand dunes (protected as natural reserve).

With more that 120 hotels and tens of apartment Sunny Beach can accommodate some 60, 000 visitors. It is a pretty crowded holiday place but it stil offers zillion things to do. There are a zillion things to do in Sunny Beach. All family activities include windsurfing, sailing, parasailing, speed boating, scooter-driven parachuting, pedalboat-ing, water skiing, horseback riding, archery, mini-golf, roller and in-line skating, bowling, tennis, bicycling, wall climbing (for the truly bored), and beach volleyball. Night Life runs the gamut from floor shows and variety acts to casinos to clubs and discos.

    Our tip:

The two water parks in Sunny Beach and Nessebar. Kids love them and mamma and pppa will be happy too.

    Town of Aytos

Aytos is a small town some 11 km west of Bryastovets. There is a fairly decent supermarket in Aytos where fresh fruits and vegetables can be bought at the stalls outside. On Wednesday there is a local market at Aytos (above supermarket) selling clothes, household items, jewellery, stoves, etc. There is a zoo in Aytos which is well “hidden” (outside of town and no road signs). We will be glad to give you drive directions for the zoo in Aytos.

    Town of Kableshkovo

Kableshkovo is another small town some 9 km from Bryastovets on the main road to Sunny Beach. There are various shops across Kableshkovo and a market again. The same market from Aytos is at Kableshkovo on Thursday.

Our villas are set in the village of Bryastovets, Bourgas area, Bulgaria.

    Dear Guest,

We would like to thank you for visiting our website and for being aware of our holiday villas for rent in Bulgaria. If you feel intrigue and interested of what you see and read you are very welcome to book your self-catered family holiday in Bulgaria. Our aim is to help you taking the right decision in order to make your holiday unforgettable and stress free. Following our previous experience we are aware that there is always a feeling of hesitation for several reasons.

Firstly we highly appreciate your determination to arrange your summer holidays by yourselves. This requires not only lots of courage but also high level of intelligence. You do not feel happy by choosing the easier way using the services of the large tour operators and staying at a noisy hotel. You have done it years on end. You have had enough and you need something new now, a new challenge that involves your personal efforts - renting a villa in Bulgaria.

If the decision is taken you have to make one step only saying “I can do by myself”. Perhaps this will cost you some more efforts and a little bit more of your valuable time but believe us it is worth trying. The pleasure of taking your summer holiday “in your hands” is incredible.

Is Bulgaria the right place to rent a villa?

If you still hesitate where to go we can assure you Bulgaria is a hot spot. For ones in your life you have to visit Bulgaria although you probably never heard of Bulgaria before and you know nothing about Bulgaria. Make a search with Google about Bulgaria and you will be amazed how much information about the country, culture and history you will find.

Bulgaria has joined the EU and no visas are required. In recent years Bulgaria became very popular because many foreign citizens, especially from the UK have visited the country not only for spending their summer holiday on the Black sea coast or in the mountains but also for purchasing a holiday property or a second home.

    Where to book in Bulgaria?

A difficult question having in mind that the holiday rentals market is huge: various offers, different locations and prices. It is not easy to take a final decision where to stay. And maybe some hesitation appears again. Our website for example is full of information, details and photos of the villas but one could say “Are these villas true or are they fake” or “Does this place really exist?”

This lack of trust makes lots of people choosing famous tour operators to avoid the risk of the unknown.

We would like to assure you that on www.bulgarianvillarenters.com you will find something different and rather unique in comparison with all other websites that advertise holiday villas in Bulgaria.

    Our Villas & Services

Most of our holiday villas have 3 double bedrooms, perfect for up to 6 people. All villas are built in the period 2005 - 2009 and set on three gated communities – "Meadow View Villas" (2005), "Sunny Hills Villas" (2006-2008), and "Royal Villas"(2009) - each complex with its own swimming pool. All villas are detached and they are not of the apartment type. Each villa is perfect for family holiday with children away from the crowded places like Sunny Beach.

All three gated communities are located in the small and peaceful village of Bryastovets - small village 12 km from Bourgas Airport and 20 minutes drive to either Bourgas city (to the south) or the resort of Sunny Beach and Nessebar (to the east). The village is quiet, peaceful and very safe

We look after ALL villas that can be booked on our website. We are responsible for your airport transfer, for the swimming pool and garden maintenance, for the final cleaning of the villa and probably most important: we look after you on your holiday!

You could book your villa online within the frame scales you require, then we reserve the villa for you and you are free to book your flight. It is advisable to take care of your flight tickets within the period January – March, because tickets in this period are cheaper and there are still tickets available. In case you have difficulties booking flight for the defined period and the villa has already been reserved for you, no need to worry. We are pretty flexible and changing dates to match your flight schedule will not be a problem. Believe us, we will do our best!

We believe the optimum term of stay in our villas is 2 weeks. Anyway if you could afford to prolong your holiday and you are not limited in time three weeks stay will be just perfect for full relax and escape from all problems and stress in your daily round.

We will help you with maps, route instructions, travel tips, and other support services that will make your vacation in Bulgaria exciting and hassle free. On our site you can also book a car for the period of your stay, or ask for a driver who can be hired occasionally (for supermarket shopping or to go to the beach).

You can now check our prices or book you villa here.

Finding the perfect villa holiday has never been easier!

    UK

Lovely high quality bungalows, well looked after & maintained. The airport pick up run smoothly and fast. We found it an ideal location for a relaxing family holiday by the pool, to explore the countryd & to enjoy the local beaches, restaurants & water sports. Worth hiring a car.
    Jemma and Terry, August 2008

The properties are a lovely, very comfortable bungalows. The beaches are close by. The villa we stayed at is very clean with new furtniture. The family, who looked after us are very welcoming, lovely people. I also can recommend this bungalow for travellers with little children. On the veranda you can have your breakfast or cup of tea and your children can also play around. We had a beautiful vacation there and would go back happily at any time! Thank you!!
    Roy and Oana, August 2008

Superb location for a family or group holiday. Between 20 and 30 minutes drive to a good selection of beaches (ask your host for best options). The Black Sea Coast is really worth exploring and Bryastovets is a relaxing and convenient base from where you can combine beach, culture or active days as you wish. The house is well equipped so you can be totally independent if you so desire.
    Melissa & James, August 2008

Very suitable for all ages -including the elderly - and very comfortable. We felt like home away from home. Great surroundings and a really welcoming home.
    Carol Thompson, July 2008

For those of you looking to rent a house in Bulgaria, I suggest you look no further. My family rented one if these villas in Bryastovets for two weeks in July 2007 and we didn’t want to leave. The villa is cosy, well furnished and the pool is great. The food there in Bulgaria is delicious and the fruits and vegetables taste like this.
    Graeme Goodfellow, July 2007

I just had to let you know how wonderful holiday we had in your holiday complex. We will, without doubt, recommend it to our friends and colleagues
    Andrew Hall, July 2007

I have to admit I was a little hesitant at first about renting a house rather than staying in a hotel. But all my apprehensions were unfounded. The owners are honest, very friendly, and were very quick to respond to the questions I asked in my e-mails. It was a pleasure dealing with them.
    Pete Robinson, May 2007

We will return, you can be sure. We have found home away from home.
    Adrian Shaw, June 2007

Superb villas very clean, lovely swimming pool, quiet area ideal for relaxing. Very quiet village close by but shop and bars available. Can drive into Sunny beach easily and also Bourgas. Would highly recommend for a quiet relaxing holiday. We would revisit again even our 2 teenages thought it was good. The family who look after the villas cant do enough to make it special.
    Cath Gibbon, July 2007

Well designed villas, great service, lovely pool, ideal location for all of the main resorts and a beautiful country too ….. what more could you want? Only problem was we only had a week!

Sehr schöne Anlage, das Haus war super für uns (5 Personen).Falls Sie mit dem Auto anreisen ist alles sehr naheliegend. Toller Urlaub - wir sind 4 Tage länger geblieben als geplannt.
    Ulrike Naumann, July 2007

The location of the villas is absolutely fantastic. We used our holiday to explore the country; we used to drive for daily excursions in a radius of 200km almost every day. The other time we spent at the pool, that was kept very clean all the time.
    Volker Rickes, July 2008

    Switzerland / Schweiz

Wirklich toll! Weiter so. Liebe grüße.

We have had a very enjoyable and relaxing holiday. The bungalow is lovely and you have made it very comfortable for guests - allthough there were seven of us (5 kids). The pool was perfect, clean, warm and a good size. The ocation of the complex is an ideal base for exploring this area of Bulgaria.

The contact with the owner was very nice and fast. We arrived by car and had an arrangement to be collected from outside Bourgas. The village of Bryastovets is 20 min drive from Bourgas. Our bungalow was fantastic with pool view, very nice furnished and fully equipped kitchen. We highly recomment these villas for a nice and relaxing family holiday, the area is so qiet rustic. We would definetely recommend it to our friends.

    Activities

Things to do while on a holiday in Bulgaria

For the fans of traveling: where to go & places of interest in the Bourgas region (car is a must)

For our guests coming from Eastern and Central Europe as well as from Germany and France there is a possibility of traveling by car to Bulgaria. We usually provide our guests who travel by car on their own with full details about the exact location of the village of Bryastovets so they find it without any problems.

Car hire BulgariaFor those who travel by plane, mostly citizens of the UK, Russia and the Scandinavian countries we would recommend hiring a car from the airport on their arrival – Bourgas, Varna or even Sofia. If you are flying to Bourgas airport the airport transfer is included in the rental price (for up to 4 people). If you feel unsure to drive we can arrange your pick up from Sofia or Varna airport. We can help you to hire a car in Bulgaria. The car can be delivered to the aiport or the the villa in Bryastovets. Since we work together with a partner car rental company it is not required from our guests to pay a deposit for the car booked. The payments is due on delivery. Car hire in Bulgaria is one of the great needs if you would like to explore the beauty of the country and the Bourgas area in specific

So, you are already in Bryastovets and you have a car at your disposal. You have the chance to visit different places and to spend the day somewhere on the Black sea coast.

If you are coming to Bulgaria for the first time and you are not familiar with the area we hope our short guide tour will be helpful.

Let’s start with nearest places of interest to visit:

    Sunny Beach

Sunny BeachSunny Beach is about 25 km away from Bryastovets or 20 min drive by car. This is the largest and the most famous Bulgarian resort on the Black sea coast. During the socialism it used to be the only luxurious summer resort in the country that attracted clients with its excellent hotels, unique nature and long and clean beaches. In the period of democracy the resort has been totally built-up with hundreds of new hotels (4 and 5 stars mostly) and from a pleasant family friendly resort it became a huge (capacity around 200 000 tourist) and noisy resort. It is mostly preferred and visited by young people because it offers lots of entertainments- restaurants, bars, discos, gambling games, many beach entertainments and different water sports. It is not suitable for families looking for a peaceful holiday because life here never ends and it is always noisy and crowed with people.

    Pictures from Beach

Sunny Beach Sea Sunny Beach Hotels Sunny Beach Bungee

However Sunny Beach is very popular and much visited by our guests because they have the advantage to combine the attractions the resort offers with the tranquility and peace of the village life. You should visit the two Waterparks (especially if you are with kids), there are two of them: one is in Sunny Beach and the other one is in Ravda just before Sunny Beach (both on the main road, on the right side of the road when driving to Sunny Beach).

Action Aquapark (Sunny Beach) ca. 29km away
Action Aquapark is the most amusing, inspiring and emotional location on the Bulgarian Black sea coast. The aqua park offers water attractions for each taste and age. Thirteen water attractions, several cocktail bars offering fresh drinks, and restaurants here you can try tempting culinary specialities. Action Aquapark Action Aquapark

Aqua Paradise (Nessebar) ca. 20km away
Aqua Paradise Nessebar Aqua Paradise Nessebar Aqua Paradise is the paradise of the water entertainments. The total length of the slides exceeds 650 m, and they are located among exotic castles, swimming pools, restaurants, open cocktail bars, verdure, which turn the park into one of the most exciting places for entertainment of both children and adults in Bulgaria.

It is great fun and it is worth visiting. After you have spent the day in Sunny Beach and you have had enough there is nothing more pleasant then coming back to Bryastovets. Believe or not but all our guests act as if they feel relief when they come back “home”, away from the crowd and noise.

    Nessebar

NessebarNessebar is one of the oldest cities in Europe and has a unique colour and architecture. It is located on a small peninsula (the Old part) in the Black Sea wich is linked with the land only by a long and narrow isthmus. It has existed for more than 9,000 years. It emerged as a fortified Thracian settlement; afterwards it was a Greek polis, then a Roman colony. Has 2 parts - the Old Part and the New Part. Located very close to Sunny Beach, nowadays the town is almost connected to the resort.
Nessebur is our guests’ favorite destination because it is close to Bryastovets and it could be visited a couple of times. The old part of the town is stunning, with cobbled streets throughout, medieval churches and stone and wood houses, some of which are national cultural monuments. There are some small shops selling souvenirs and lots of restaurants offering traditional Bulgarian cuisine. The beach is very good and you could stay here during the whole day.

    Pomorie

Pomorie Pomorie is some 20 km. from Bryastovets. It is also of ancient roman origin, possibly founded in the 5th or 4th century BC. Pomorie a very pleasant place for a walk with long beaches and clear waters. You will find many small restaurants along the sea line on the Pomorie peninsula. The Pomorie Bay is preferred for yachting and sailing, the pier - from amateur fishermen. Together with the traditional means of livelihood of the local population (wine-growing, wine-producing, production of salt and fishing), the tourism and its accompanying activities define Pomorie as attractive balneological and sea resort.

    City of Bourgas

City of BourgasBourgas (20 km away) it is the largest town on the Southern Black Coast with population of 300 000 people. It is a big shopping center, some of the most famous chains of supermarkets could be found here such as Metro, Carrefour, Piccadili and Kaufland. Prices will be cheap for you because they are the same for the Bulgarians. Spirits, a bottle of rakija, vodka or brandy is about 6-7 levs and a bottle of quality wine is the same price. There are many coffee bars and good restaurants in the central part of Bourgas where you can have lunch or dinner at very reasonable prices. Do not miss to visit the Seaside Garden that spreads along the coast. The beach in Bourgas is very good and there are plenty of small seaside restaurants selling fresh fish and chips and ice-cold beer. Many of our guests say they like Bourgas beach more than that in Sunny Beach.

    Sozopol

Town of SozopolSouth of Bourgas, some 55 km. (50 min. by car) away from Bryastovets is the town of Sozopol. The sights of Sozopol are many, but none of them can be separated from the rest since all of them impact the visitors as an attractive ensemble. The old part of the town resembles to Nessebar because Sozopol was also founded by the Romans and it is one of the oldest Bulgarian coastal towns. The ancient atmosphere of the town is further fed by cobbled streets and high fences in front of which the old women sit and chat, knit laces and sell jams. For catering we reccomend the small coastal restaurants and private pubs both in the old and new part of the town.

    Dyuni (beach)

Dyini BeachFurther south of Sozopol (60 km. from Bryastovets) is located “Dyuni” holiday village. We highly recommend this destination for a one day trip. The nature here is unique and the beaches are perfect and it is not as crowed with people as Sunny Beach. You can stop on the way back in Sozopol for a lunch

There are other places you could visit within 100-150 km. or 1-2 hours by car.
To the north is the town of Varna, further on the costal town of Balchik or if you prefer some historical places you may visit Kotel and Zheravna famous for being monuments of Bulgarian national Revival period architecture and culture.

Perhaps you now understand why we recommend 2-3 weeks stay because there are other places that deserve visiting but time is not enough. That is why some of our guests are coming back to us every summer and each time they discover that actually they miss Bulgaria.
